Internship Final Reflection

Final Site Visit

Student’s Name _Kuiti Ahmed_______________________________________
Internship Site _Arab American Family Support Center_________________
Immediate Supervising Mentor _David Greenhalgh______Date_5/21/08____
Questions for Mentor:
1. What evidence of learning and growth have you observed in your student over the course of the internship program?

Kuiti has taken an increasing amount of initiative over the course of the internship. He has a very good understanding of the program, knows what needs to be done, and does this without necessarily needing to be asked. For instance, one of the problems we have been facing is keeping students within the classrooms. Kuiti took it upon himself to keep an eye on the door, stop every student who tried to leave, and ask him where he was going.
This initiative is perhaps a reflection of the increased confidence Kuiti feels in his abilities. Kuiti was at first very concerned that he would not be able to help. He soon realized how much of a help he is, took pride in this fact, and did everything he could to help even more.

2. What advice do you have for your intern as he or she gets ready for the final year of high school?

I simply want Kuiti to believe in his abilities. Kuiti is very intelligent, has a wealth of valuable experiences, and has no lack of ambition. He just needs to believe in himself.

3. What changes would you make, if any, to the program?
I would not make any changes whatsoever to the program. It has been a real pleasure working with Kuiti. Kuiti and Mr. Schultz are both great ambassadors to the school.
